We will have our spring field trip to the Thinkery on May 9,
2019. We will need 4 parent chaperones
in order to comply with the Thinkery’s adult to student ratio. There are still
3 spots available! Please email me if
you are able and willing to attend. I
will send out information to the chaperones once all spots are filled.
This next week will be STEAM week! 1st Grade’s
challenge is called the Humpty Dumpty Challenge. In this challenge, students
will work cooperatively to construct the tallest wall possible so that Humpty
Dumpty will crack open when he falls. We will use our OWL time to think,
design, create, test and redesign if needed. It should be a lot of fun!

making mental pictures of poems.

We have written free verse poems, Acrostic Poems, and we are working on
our Sensory Poems. We will also write poems using alliteration and rhyme.

We will learn about the characteristics of a mammal, their body parts,
