I hope everyone had a restful weekend. I spent all day Saturday downtown at the
iheart Country Music Festival. It was so
much fun, but I got sunburned! The
concert was amazing though!
KnOWLedge Night was a huge success! Thank you to all who came. I know it meant so much to the kiddos to be
able to “show off” their hard work. If
you weren’t able to make it, your child’s work will be going home today in the
Tuesday folder.
Homework: Please remember that homework bags will not
go home for the rest of the year. Your
child may still read in RAZ-kids and work in IXL. Don’t forget to fill out the May reading
calendar.
The End of the Year Party will be on May 25 (time is still
TBD). At the party, we will have our End
of the Year Awards Ceremony. The kiddos
will also participate in a Talent Show!
The kiddos can choose any act they want (dance, sing, play an
instrument, magic tricks…). They should
practice their act at home, and it should not be more than about a minute and a
half long.

This week in Reading Workshop...
We will be focusing on reading comprehension skills to help us
become stronger readers. This week we will be reading books that have
strong Mother characters.
This week in Writing Workshop...
We will be discussing & reviewing the Writing Process. We will also think about all of the different
types of writing we have learned about this year. The students will be using the writing
process as they write small moments, expository texts, poems, and letters.
This week in Math...
We will continue to work on comparison subtraction in problem
solving situations.
This week in Science...
We will begin learning about seeds. We will observe seeds and explore the
different parts of a seed. We will also
observe different types of seeds, and compare and contrast them.
The Life skill for this
week is Sense of Humor. Having a Sense of Humor means that you can
laugh and be playful without harming others.
Have a great week!
